Kathleen Gregory (BA MEd) has more than 30 years experience teaching at secondary, elementary and middle schools. With a background in assessment practices and literacy strategies, she has also been a district curriculum coordinator and a support teacher for classroom teachers and school teams who are integrating students with special needs.
A former teacher-in-residence at the University of Victoria, Kathleen is currently an instructor for literacy and assessment courses for pre-service teachers, Kathleen has also assisted many school districts in developing their own approaches to conferencing, report writing and authentic assessment strategies. She is one of the authors for Pearson Education's current Language Arts Series Literacy In Action ( 2008/9) and for Identities (Oxford University Press 1997) Kathleen has co-authored the following books for teachers: Voices of Experience (a K-3 series and a Gr. 4 - 8 series 2004/2005) (Portage and Main Press) Together is Better: Collaborative Assessment, Evaluation and Reporting (Portage and Main Press 1992) and Knowing what Counts Series: Setting and Using Criteria; Self-assessment and Goal Setting; Reporting and Conferencing. (Connections Publishing 1997, 2000, 2001).
